Programming Challenge for Girls (PC4G)

Introduce your Year 9 female students to computer programming with our interactive PC4G workshops, held on campus.

In light of the emerging COVID-19 situation and continuing policy statements from the State and Federal Government, the University is adopting a series of changes to reduce rates of infection in the community.

The health and well-being of our community is of paramount importance. Therefore, all University events have been postponed or cancelled from midnight, Tuesday 17 March 2020. This includes the 19 March Intro Session #1, the 11 June Intro Session #2 which have been cancelled.

The University will continue to follow expert health advice and will continue to make decisions about its activities which are in the best interests of the health, safety and well-being of the entire University community.

At this stage, the 17 September Intro Session #3 will run as planned, with registrations opening in late July, but please sign up for updates:

Participate in 3 x 2 hour workshops, where students try out coding in an approachable, fun, challenging and educational environment through the program ALICE.

These sessions have been designed to support students in using ALICE, where they create animations, build interactive narratives and program simple games in 3D. This program encourages learning through creative exploration, and no prior coding experience is required.

At the end of the school year, these students are invited to compete in the PC4G finale, where they put their coding skills to the test in the final competition.
