We are proud of the impact our alumni have on the world we live in. That’s why, at the Melbourne School of Engineering, we like to share your stories and successes — both big and small.
At the Melbourne School of Engineering (MSE), we believe our alumni have the power to shape the world. By supporting our School and sharing your stories, you motivate and inspire future generations of engineers and IT specialists. From your own time at MSE, you probably recall the impact that insight from former students had on you. For current students, learning about opportunities and diverse career paths that lie ahead can be a valuable learning tool. By sharing your successes, both big and small, you can encourage the next class of engineering and IT professionals.
Our alumni make a network of almost 36,000 engineering and IT graduates across 104 countries. This expansive and unique community — which you join upon completing your degree — provides a platform for motivation as well as a diverse networking opportunity. We hope you’ll take advantage of our alumni services throughout your career.
Forging strong alumni relations is our goal. Your voice can influence our current students, and we hope that by creating a platform for sharing graduate achievements we can motivate current and prospective students for years to come.
We want to hear from you! Please keep your contact details up-to-date for the most current news, events and alumni benefits.

Welcome to Melbourne program
A University-wide initiative seeking alumni volunteers is the Welcome to Melbourne program for Australia Award Scholarship winners arriving in Melbourne from developing countries throughout the world. Make a connection with a scholarship recipient by inviting them for a home-cooked meal with you and your family.
STEM Industry Mentoring program
The program aims to provide students with a sense of direction and ideas about how to successfully transition into employment or further study. Mentoring is an informal partnership, where a more experienced mentor provides guidance and support to a current University of Melbourne student. Meetings focus on career planning and how students can make the most of their time at the University.
Ask Alumni is a new, informal mentoring program that helps current students to connect with alumni. Sign up at any time and have informative conversations on a range of topics. No matter where you are in the world or how much time you are able to commit, there is something to gain.
Every year, we run a rich program of alumni events and reunions. This provides you with the opportunity to catch up with old friends and make connections with new ones.
