Our transport infrastructure is under pressure and our transport systems are frequently not coordinated or connected. The Australian Integrated Multimodal Ecosystem gives us an immediate opportunity to tackle this situation by harnessing detailed operational data and using advanced algorithms to develop smarter multimodal transport solutions. In partnership with the University of Melbourne on AIMES, Cubic wants to provide a system that gives a holistic, multimodal network view while using big data and predictive analytics to identify where congestion is likely to occur and how we can reduce it. Through collaboration with industry partners and use of state-of-the-art technologies, I am confident the AIMES project will continue to support the development of smarter transport networks and empower governments as they prepare for future smart cities.
