Project
Project Insight used artificial intelligence to profile intersections to identify behaviours that lead to dangerous situations for road users, including vulnerable road suers (VRU). Cisco and Cohda Wireless devices and technology have been installed at the corner of Nicholson and Elgin Streets, Carlton to provide a real-time view and analysis at the roadside including the count, velocity and types of road users travelling through the intersections.
Outcome
The project will develop an understanding of what safety measures and actions that can be taken to avoid incidents at intersections. The outcome will be a future ready state for the connected and automated mobility ecosystem.
Partners
Cisco, Cohda Wireless, Department of Transport and the University of Melbourne
