Become a STEM Industry Mentor

We welcome alumni and industry mentors from a breadth of sectors who have experience to share with our STEM students.

The STEM Industry Mentoring Program connects Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology and Faculty of Science students with alumni mentors and industry professionals from within our community. Mentors and mentees in the 2023 program will be matched mid-year with the program running until the end of the year.

Overview

  • The program runs during Semester 2 (between July and December)
  • Participants should meet* at least three times
  • The frequency of meetings is negotiated between the mentor and mentee in the initial meeting
  • The format of the meetings (in person, online or a combination of both) will be discussed in the initial meeting
  • Students are responsible for the relationship and will initiate the first contact
  • Mentors and mentees have the opportunity to extend the relationship beyond the official end of the program
