Smart mining and processing

The industry is rapidly embracing digital technologies and is a leader in adopting automation and process control.  Further opportunities exist for applying the broader array of digital technologies available today (for example artificial intelligence and machine learning).

The challenge

Mining and resource extraction frequently occurs remotely and with ore bodies that vary dramatically in composition mine by mine, and at a micro scale (mm) scale in a single pit.  Optimizing extraction can be challenging, and the application of advanced digital technologies has significant potential.

Our response

Projects underway include optimizing mine planning across multiple time zones, advance process control systems based on AI and machine learning, digital twins and automation.
