Professor Ruth Nettle

Leader, Rural Innovation Research Group, School of Agriculture and Food, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, University of Melbourne

Dr Nettle leads the Rural Innovation Research Group at the University of Melbourne. A social scientist working in rural innovation systems, Professor Nettle has led a career in agricultural extension, engaged-research, agricultural education and university leadership. Her research interests are in understanding and improving rural innovation processes with a concern for the significant issues of rural Australia and farming systems world-wide.

Michael Jensz

Director Rural Water Policy and Programs, Water and Catchments, Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning

Michael Jensz is the Director of Rural Water Policy and Programs. He has over 15 years experience in the water sector which has included working in environmental water policy and planning, helping establish the Victorian Environmental Water Holder, oversighting water recovery programs, and implementing sustainable irrigation programs.

Associate Professor Graham Brodie

School of Agriculture and Food, Faculty of Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences, University of Melbourne

Dr Brodie is an electrical and electronic engineer, with 40 years of industrial and academic experience. His activities included design of: industrial microwave systems; sensor systems; electrical distribution networks; on-farm animal waste management systems; application of Geographic Information Systems and Remote Sensing technologies in agriculture; and on-farm renewable energy production.

Lisa Birrell

Regional Extension Officer, Murray Dairy, and Farmer, Goulburn Valley

Lisa Birrell is a Regional Extension Officer with Murray Dairy, located at Tatura, having held this position for the last seven years, predominantly in the role of animal nutrition and feedbase management. Lisa has 18 years experience in the dairy industry in the northern Victoria and southern Riverina regions as a nutritionist and milk factory field officer.
