Jack Wynhoven Scholarship

Dr Jack Wynhoven completed his Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) at the University of Melbourne in 1964. He went on to a career as a structural and consulting engineering in Australia, Canada and Switzerland. This scholarship was established through a generous commitment from Dr Jack Wynhoven AM and his family, reflecting their passion for education and engineering. It provides support to Master of Engineering students experiencing financial difficulties, helping future engineers to progress towards their chosen careers.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

  • be enrolled in any of the 300-point  engineering Masters course

Value

In 2024, a number of awards of up to $5,000 each are available.

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Financial need, as determined by information provided in your 2024 FEIT Student Financial Assessment form; and
  • Strength of a personal statement outlining:
    • the impact of disadvantaged circumstances on your ability to study (including supporting documents)
    • your interest in your chosen field of engineering
    • career aspirations
    • benefit of the scholarship

Conditions

Recipients must agree to the University sharing their name and course details with the donor of their scholarship and provide a brief report on the beneļ¬ts of the scholarship if requested.
