Ken Eltham Scholarship

This scholarship has been established by Mr Kenneth Eltham and reflects the Eltham family's strong commitment to education opportunity - especially in engineering. Kenneth gained a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) at the University of Melbourne in 1951; his father, Ernest Eltham, had also graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) in 1925.


To be eligible for this scholarship, you need to:

  • be an Australian citizen
  • be enrolled in your penultimate year of the Master of Engineering, meaning that you have completed more than 100 points but less than 200 points at the time of applying.
  • be experiencing financial hardship.


One scholarship is available and is valued at $25,000, to be paid in instalments over two years.

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • Financial need
  • Academic merit
  • Strength of your personal statement
