Robert Bage Memorial Scholarship


The scholarship is open to graduate research students.


In 2019, one scholarship valued at approximately $7,000 will be awarded.


The Robert Bage Memorial Scholarship was established by Mrs Edward Bage in memory of her son Edward Frederick Robert Bage, BCE, Lt Royal Australian Engineers, Captain, 3rd Field Company Engineers First Division AIF, who was killed at Gallipoli on 7 May 1915.

The scholarship is awarded annually for the purpose of field work overseas or study at an overseas University or research institution.

The recipient is selected based on the strength of their written application.

Selection criteria

Applications will be assessed on the following criteria:

  • The merit of the proposed field trip
  • Strength of the applicant’s research
  • Prior funding opportunities
