The CADRE-OCE Academy aims to deliver a unique research training experience that is supported by Defence and industry-linked programs. The Academy provides an integrated learning pathway for students and researchers to develop industry-related and commercialisation skills to translate innovative technologies and solutions for the OCE STaR Shot.
The Academy’s four programs will initially be based on well-established education and training programs from the four founding Universities. Additional programs offered by partners within the Academy will be included as the initiative grows.
- Industry PhD Programs: A comprehensive end-to-end program, starting from PhD recruitment to jobs in Defence, science and industry
- PhD+ Program: Giving Academy graduates a crucial edge through vital skill development and enhancing PhD students’ research, professional, and communications skills
- Design for Defence Program: Supporting multidisciplinary teams across engineering, business, science and medicine to identify critical unmet needs, create novel technologies to address them, and establish business and commercialisation plans to bring them to market
- Entrepreneurship and Commercialisation Program: A series of education and training programs to build and transform mindset and skillsets in entrepreneurship and innovation.
To create the CADRE-OCE cohort and identity, all PhD students (including OCE STaR Shot postgraduate students) and researchers will be members of the Academy. The Academy's programs will also be available to researchers and students supported by the Australian Defence OCE STaR Shot.
