Dr Helena Wang receives 2025 IChemE Nicklin Medal
Dr Helena Wang, Senior Lecturer and ARC DECRA Fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, has been awarded the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) Nicklin Medal 2025.
This international award recognises early-career researchers who have made outstanding contributions to chemical engineering research.
Dr Wang is recognised for her innovative and impactful work on energy materials and critical materials recovery, driving practical advances that support several UN Sustainable Development Goals and contribute to a more circular, sustainable world.
IChemE medals and prizes are awarded annually, and celebrate the remarkable achievements of individuals, universities and companies, encompassing an array of talent across industry and academia.
This medal is named after Don Nicklin, the long-standing head of chemical engineering at Queensland University, Australia and a successful consultant known for supporting up-and-coming researchers.
