Mallee Hydrogen Technology Cluster Industry Information Session

Hydrogen Industry Information Session

Thank you to the Swan Hill Rural City Council for assisting us in bringing together regional businesses for an information session on hydrogen.

On this page you’ll find links to the presentations, the presenting organisations and other information that came up through the Q&A session.

Opportunities for hydrogen

Opportunities for hydrogen include its use in:

  • Trucks and forklifts
  • Refuelling stations
  • Gas blending applications
  • Leveraging solar power to produce hydrogen
  • Using biomass for hydrogen production
  • Emissions reduction
  • Hydrogen for battery and micro-grids
  • Energy of hydrogen as an alternative to natural gas.

Australia’s hydrogen opportunity

Australian, state and territory governments are working together on a National Hydrogen Strategy. This animated video explores clean hydrogen and the opportunity for Australians.

ReCarbon develops Bundaberg Biohydrogen Technology Cluster with Utilitas

Leading Australian biogas developer Utilitas and ReCarbon has established the Bundaberg Biohydrogen Technology Cluster (BHTC) at Utilitas’ multi-faceted Bundaberg bioHub facility. Utilising biogas derived from the anaerobic digestion of biomass from community and agribusiness sources, ReCarbon’s Plasma Carbon Conversion Unit will produce fuel cell grade hydrogen cost-effectively.

HyCapability

HyCapability is Australia’s first hydrogen capability finder — a free, online, searchable platform that connects Australian hydrogen businesses with a domestic and global market.

HyResource

HyResource is a collaborative knowledge sharing resource supporting the development of Australia’s hydrogen industry.

The CSIRO, the Future Fuels Cooperative Research Centre, NERA and the Australian Hydrogen Council are working collaboratively to support knowledge sharing across the hydrogen community. A key aim of this collaboration is to enhance local and global connectivity, and support informed decision-making.

The benefits of this hydrogen knowledge sharing initiative include reducing search costs, filling stakeholder knowledge gaps and helping accelerate the development and deployment of clean hydrogen as a low-emissions energy source.
