Regional innovation showcase
Some of the Mallee’s latest innovations will be visiting the Mildura, Euston and Swan Hill areas in June as part of a free Mallee Regional Innovation Centre roadshow.
At each stop on the three-day roadshow, people will have the opportunity to hear from and talk to the researchers involved in developing new technologies and initiatives that will support the Mallee’s horticulture industries into the future.

“The Centre has been engaging with growers, peak bodies, service industries, and local councils and businesses on a range of projects with the Victoria Drought and Innovation Hub, and it is important that we come back to the people we have been working with to share our findings,” Centre CEO Rebecca Wells said.
This roadshow is also an opportunity for people to see new tools and technologies up close and provide feedback directly to the researchers about current projects so they can make changes and improvements. There are also some new projects we want to tell you about.
The same three-hour program will run in each location, covering projects and activities the Centre is undertaking with the Victoria Hub. Attractions and topics include:
- Agriculture Victoria’s electric quad mule with mounted Green Atlas equipment
- An economic modelling tool for horticulture commodities
- Irrigation management
- Drought consultations update
- Development of water forecasting and farm management deposits projects
- Beehive health
- Agriculture Victoria work on soil sensors and a project looking at variable heads on a spray unit
