Not For Credit International Study Opportunities

The below opportunities should be considered as extra-curricular activities which students are encouraged to consider for personal and professional development. For various reasons they have not been able to be approved for credit towards any FEIT degree. Commonly this is due to the short-term nature of the programs not meeting the hours requirement for the professional accreditation eligibility for which our engineering and IT courses have been tailored.

If you think that any of these programs might meet credit requirements, please seek the approval directly from your course coordinator or exchange discipline advisor.

Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan (Virtual Program)

Bringing Ideas in Remote Discussion (BIRD) Program 2024

Topic: Japanese Food Culture and Engineering
February 9 - 20 online

Tokyo Institute of Technology (Tokyo Tech) is a leading engineering institution based in Tokyo, Japan, and the largest institution for higher education in Japan dedicated to science and technology.

This coming February, they are offering an online program focusing on Japanese Food & Food Engineering for Reducing Global Food Crisis. This program will comprise lectures by both Tokyo Tech and UniMelb academics, as well as group project work, cultural activities, a live-streamed site-visit and opportunities to make international friendships.

You will be working with Japanese students as well as students from other partner institutions of Tokyo Tech, so this is a great opportunity to start building an international peer network who have similar interests.

View the Tokyo Tech website and information flyer here.

This program may particularly appeal to students interested in sustainability, food engineering, Japanese food culture, networking and making connections with Japanese and international students at Tokyo Tech, or in developing and honing cross-cultural communication and cooperative skills.

This program will run online.
