Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), Daejeon, South Korea

The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has a well-established Visiting Student Researcher Program. FEIT students may choose to attend a 3-month research program over the Australian Summer holiday period (late November – late February). Attending students will join an existing project at KAIST and undertake several months of research experience, with the intention that this also contribute academic credit towards their degree at the University of Melbourne.

The Pohang University of Science and Technology(POSTECH) has a well-established Research Participation Program. Louvain, Belgium | Catholic University of Louvain Summer Research Program (Summer: Nov - Feb)

An exciting opportunity for engineering students to undertake research in Europe over the Australian summer break. You will join an existing lab at UCLouvain, Belgium, and undertake research from late November - end February (with a short break for the Christmas/New Year holiday period). Following your research experience you will return to Melbourne and complete some assessment components so that this experience will contribute academic credit towards your degree.

Twente, Netherlands | University of Twente Summer Research Program (Summer: Nov - Feb)

The University of Twente is located in Enschede, a medium-sized city in the east of the Netherlands with about 160,000 inhabitants. The city is only a few kilometres from the German border and has both strong connections to the Netherlands as well as Germany's industrial heartland and is well connected by road and rail to the rest of the Netherlands and Europe in general.

KU-STAR Short Term Academic Research Program

The Kyoto University Short-Term Academic Research (KU-STAR) Program aims to open the door to research opportunities for undergraduate and master's students who have a strong desire to pursue a doctoral program at Kyoto University.

Running over six weeks in January and February, this program offers a wonderful opportunity to have a research experience at one of Japan's premiere research universities while spending your weekends discovering Kyoto's historic temples, gardens, palaces and shrines, or jumping on the Shinkansen to explore more of Japan.
