| Dr John Patterson Prize | Awarded to the student with the best thesis in the field of thermo-fluids in the Department of Mechanical Engineering |
| John Melvin Memorial Scholarship | Awarded to the student who is deemed to have produced the best thesis in an engineering field between 1 January and 31 December of each year |
| Sir Louis Matheson Prize | Awarded to the student who is deemed to have produced the best research in the field of Civil Engineering |
