Lachlan Miegel

Team Lead

ARES' Team Lead serves as the primary manager of ARES, overseeing high-level team operations and maintaining relationships with stakeholders including the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, sponsors, and external partners. They are responsible for strategic direction, ensuring the team meets its goals while fostering an inclusive and productive team culture.

Lachlan is a third-year Undergraduate student studying Mechanical Engineering. He joined ARES in 2024, having served as the Aerostructures Lead (previously named Structures) for Project Lemaire, and acts as Secretary of the VRA. Lachlan is Tripoli Level 2 certified, soon to fly his Level 3 rocket, SA Great, making the first member in ARES to obtain a Level 3 certification. Lachlan is passionate about composites manufacturing and machining, recently interning at MCHND.
