Tours start at the Studio, Melbourne Connect building at the Parkville campus.

Tour Stop: Telstra Creator Space (TCS)

What is Telstra Creator Space?

An accessible fabrication lab located in Melbourne Connect open to all students at the University of Melbourne. Design and build early prototypes, find electronics needed to make your projects, test your prototypes, wood working machines, metal shop as well as CNC machining and traditional machining.

What is the First Year Center?

A hub for incoming Computing and Information Systems students seeking information and support as they adjust to the university experience. A welcoming environment for students to get acclimated to university life and receive the guidance they need to succeed in their CIS studies.

Tour Stop: STOP1

What is STOP1?

The central student services hub that connects you with a full range of student services to support your success while studying . STOP1 can help with course advice, enrolment, timetable, fees, scholarships, student cards, academic advising, student visa questions, insurance and more!

Tour Stop: Counselling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

What is CAPS?

CAPS provides free, confidential, short-term psychological counselling to currently enrolled students and staff, as well as a range of workshops, mental health training, and helpful resources. Mental Health First Aid and other training programs are also available for both students and staff.

What does the Health Service offer?

The University Health Service is a general practitioner service, that also refers to outside specialists when necessary. There are male and female doctors available and you are usually able to see the doctor of your choice. Medical staff can provide certificates for students who are patients of this clinic.

What is the Student Pavilion Building?

A place designed to be a home away from home on campus. Drop in and use the airy study spaces, check out the new home of UMSU’s Rowden White Library, share and prepare food in the expansive student kitchen, or simply take a break on one of many student balconies and terraces.

What is University of Melbourne Student Union (UMSU)?

This is the University of Melbourne Student Union! An organisation run by students, for students. They help you make the most out of your time at University of Melbourne. You can find support, find a buddy, make a difference, express yourself, join clubs and much much more!

Tour Stop Clive Pratt Laboratory, Engineering Block D

What is the Clive Pratt Laboratory?

The B.06 Clive Pratt Laboratory is on the Wet Lab Basement level of the Infrastructure Engineering building (Block D). Coursework laboratory experiments from the Chemical & Biomolecular, Infrastructure and Mechanical Engineering departments are housed here.

Tour Stop Study Lounges, Old Engineering Building

What are the Study Lounges?

The Old Engineering building (Building 173) has study lounges (quiet spaces with seats, tables, and charging points) that students from the Faculty can study at. A great place to study by yourself or with friends.

What are the Engineering Design Studios (EDS)?

These EDS spaces and the DnB Lab host coursework laboratory experiments and capstone projects mainly from the Electrical & Electronics Engineering department and the Mechatronics discipline from the Mechanical Engineering department.

What are the Engineering Design Studios (EDS)?

These EDS spaces and the DnB Lab host coursework laboratory experiments and capstone projects mainly from the Electrical & Electronics Engineering department and the Mechatronics discipline from the Mechanical Engineering department.

Tours End House of Cards – Engineering Lane

What is House of Cards?

A coffee cart at the heart of the Faculty serving specialty coffee and sweet treats. With every purchase, you choose to support one of 4 'cause' categories: environmental, cultural, social or health. House of Cards then makes donations to specific initiatives according to your choices.
