Our  Research

CSDILA advances land and geospatial science knowledge base to address global challenges - supporting sustainable urban planning, equitable land administration, and innovative solutions through the power of geospatial data and location intelligence.

At CSDILA, we develop and implement scalable, place-based, people-focused, geospatial technologies and platforms - ensuring their practical application through collaborative partnerships, capacity building, and impactful solutions.

Research Areas

  • Land Administration and Governance

We develop innovative approaches to secure land rights, strengthen governance, and enable transparent, sustainable land administration systems through improved land records management and cadastral solutions.

  • Geospatial Transport Planning, Urban Resilience and Mobility

Our work drives more sustainable, accessible, and resilient transport systems, connecting people and places through geospatial intelligence.

  • Spatial Data Infrastructures

We design and advance data ecosystems that unlock the power of geospatial information for innovation, collaboration, and decision-making.

  • Urban Planning and Analytics

We harness advanced geospatial analytics to guide smarter urban growth, balancing infrastructure, environment, and community needs.

  • Structural Health Monitoring

We apply cutting-edge sensing and geospatial technologies to monitor the health of critical infrastructure, enhancing safety and longevity.

  • Sustainability and Climate Resilience

Our research uses geospatial data to support evidence-based planning and monitoring for sustainability and climate resilience, enhancing the capacity of communities and governments to prepare for and recover from disasters.

  • Buildings, BIM and IoT

We harness BIM (Building Information Modelling), IoT (Internet of Things), and geospatial analytics to monitor, model, and optimise building performance — reducing energy consumption, enhancing sustainability, and driving innovation in smarter built environments.

  • Smart Cities and Spatial Ecology

Our research shapes smarter, greener cities by weaving spatial intelligence with ecological insights for healthier, more liveable environments.

Our Teaching

We are constantly expanding our world-class training to build capacity and human capital from practitioners to executives across our focus areas.

Within our sector, we have skills gaps from practitioners to innovators, locally and globally:

  • Locally, we will redefine land and geospatial education in line with the era of digital intelligence.
  • Globally, we will build capacity for Sustainable Development and equitable land governance
  • Study with us

We offer a research program, and a graduate training program.

  • Training

We are proud to deliver training that builds skills and leadership across land, geospatial, and location intelligence. Our programs range from executive courses for industry and government - offered locally and internationally, to formal training for Master's and PhD research degrees, as well as specialised coursework. We also offer custom-made programs tailored to your specific needs.
