The Melbourne School of Engineering in collaboration with Murrup Barak is leading several initiatives, spanning the full student life cycle, that are intended to help build Indigenous representation in the Engineering/ICT workforce.
Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS)
The Victorian Indigenous Engineering Winter School (VIEWS) is a six day program that will change and expand your perspective on engineering.
VIEWS is open to all Year 10, 11 and 12 Indigenous students enrolled in Maths and Science who are interested in exploring an engineering career.
Bachelor of Science extended program
Melbourne School of Engineering is committed to increasing participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students into Engineering and is working collaboratively to build pathways into engineering for Indigenous Australians. Here at the University of Melbourne we offer the Bachelor of Science extended program as the pathway into Engineering.
National Indigenous Engineering Summit
The Melbourne School of Engineering hosted a successful National Indigenous Engineering Summit in June 2015. This event brought together the engineering industry, professional bodies, educational providers and policy leaders to exchange ideas and develop strategies to create and support pathways into the engineering profession for Indigenous Australians.
