ACOWE key researchers have a proven track record in delivering critical insights and developing new techniques to support industry and government in understanding seabed geomorphology and geology.
In a project that undertook detailed multibeam mapping of the marine parks along Victoria’s southern coast, the data from the new mapping and interpretation of seabed geomorphology and geology led to new discoveries of the nature of sediment transport, sea level history and geomorphic resilience of our shallow marine shelf.
The discovery of the Drowned Apostles from this project led every major news bulletin in Australia and was front page news across all national newspapers.
