Members of IDEAS are invited to submit Expressions of Interest to attend the Australasian Association for Engineering Education (AAEE) Research School 2026 (formerly Winter School).
The AAEE Engineering Education Research School offers research development and networking for new and emerging engineering education researchers. Topics include:
- Designing and undertaking effective education research projects
- Exploring research methodologies, methods and evidence
- Evaluating teaching and curriculum
- Positioning evaluation and research activities in light of current trends
- Appreciating and responding to national and local grant opportunities
- Building collaborative research partnerships across Australasia and beyond
Venue: QUT, Brisbane
Date: 6 - 10 July 2026.
The FEIT TLL will support registration and reasonable travel expenses (flights, accommodation, airport transfers, and meals) for up to 2 applicants. IDEAS members with teaching responsibilities in FEIT are eligible to apply. Selection of participants will be made by the TLL Director and a member of the FEIT education leadership team, based on demonstrated interest in engineering and computing education research.

- A 100-200 word statement briefly stating
- your discipline and research background
- your current teaching responsibilities
- your interest in engineering and/or computing education research
- any existing experience you have with education research, or development you are currently undertaking
(note that no prior experience is necessary)
- A statement of support from your Head of School for you to attend – an email stating “I am happy for [name] to attend the AAEE Research School” is sufficient.
It is an expectation that participants who attend Research School will be available to lead a seminar or workshop to interested Faculty members on a related project they are involved in during the 12 months subsequent to their attending (work-in-progress projects included).
