Adding value to the region through collaborative projects that will make an impact.

Adding value to the region through collaborative projects that will make an impact.

Through the Mallee Regional Innovation Centre, business and industry have the opportunity to work with our University partners, the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University, and local technical and training education provider partner SuniTAFE, to identify, formulate and advance research and development projects.

Our focal areas: horticulture, water, energy and the environment

The Centre prioritises engagement with projects that strategically address key challenges of the region in the Centre’s four focal areas of horticulture, water, energy and the environment in irrigated production and natural resource management.

The Centre does this in two ways:

Option 1: Research and Development Team Project

  • Define the merits of a project and work with the project partner to scope the project.
  • Identify research and development staff from the University of Melbourne and/or La Trobe University that can engage with the project.
  • Work as a project group to source funding and execute the project plan.

Option 2: Fee for Service

The Centre provides an opportunity for business and industry to access a gateway to university academics, researchers and PhD candidates for specific projects that require specialised skills.

Have a project idea?

If you have a project idea that aligns with the Centre’s four focal areas, please contact us. We would be happy to talk about the best avenues through which the Centre can support, problem solve and further advance your project.
