Jet Hodgson
Jet Hodgson completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Technology Sydney, where they studied a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) in Mechanical Engineering and a Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation. Jet's honours research explored the undergraduate gender equity programs, using content analysis to explore who was represented and included. Their interest in engineering education was deepened through tutoring in first year Engineering and IT subjects centred on developing transferable skills through humanitarian engineering design projects, as well as several other professional practice subjects and subjects within TD (transdisciplinary) school.
At the University of Melbourne, Jet's research focuses on the knowledges and experiences of trans and gender diverse engineering students, with a particular interest in how trans and engineering epistemologies intersect and influence one another.
Jet commenced their PhD in FEIT in April 2026 and is supervised by Professor Sally Male and Associate Professor CQ Quinan.
