Analytical SEM Workshop with live Apreo ChemiSEM Demonstration
Share via
This one-day Analytical SEM workshop introduces the fundamentals of scanning electron microscopy — core principles, key operating modes and practical imaging considerations — and shows how SEM is used for high-quality imaging and microanalysis. We’ll cover variable pressure and environmental SEM (ESEM), sample requirements, and the key factors that influence image quality and the information you can extract. We’ll also introduce the core theory behind SEM analytical techniques, including EDS, EBSD and cathodoluminescence (CL), with practical guidance on when to use each method and what to consider for reliable results. Rounding-up, we’ll run a live remote SEM demonstration showcasing variable pressure operation, EDS and CL, followed by an overview of SEM instrumentation and capabilities available at the University of Melbourne.
Registration is essential (and free!)
