Fundamentals of SEM
To get the most from your time with an SEM, it is good to have a fundamental understanding of the major components of the instrument, and how they each work in harmony together. It is natural to compare an SEM with the light microscope, and in many respects they are very similar. Each has an illumination source, optics, sample stage, and a detector. But the images they can generate are on entirely different length scales!
